Barry Perlman (astrobarry) is a writer, astrologer, artist and mystic who grew up in the Bay Area but considers the whole world his playground. Since 2002, he has shared his weekly horoscopes and musings on the Web, where thousands of visitors from all over the globe enjoy his irreverent blend of wordy wit and intuitive insight. Barry has been featured in The New York Times, on the CBS Evening News and Tech TV, and on radio in the U.S. and Australia. Barry’s horoscopes have appeared in FAMOUS Magazine, The Livingston Weekly, and on BettyConfidential.com. He first began providing astrological consultations as a graduate student in NYC in 1998, and now speaks with hundreds of clients from around the world.
Barry is also an owner of The Sacred Well, a metaphysical shop in Oakland, CA, he co-founded in 2007. The Sacred Well is the Bay Area’s premier source for crystals and stones, artisanal jewelry and crafts, tools for the sacred and healing arts, herbs, oils, candles and other magical treasures.

Barry holds a B.A. in English from Duke Univ. and an M.A. in Humanities from NYU. His interests include reading, writing, cooking, eating, travel, exercise, digital photography, crappy TV, and his cherished friends. He currently lives in San Francisco with his partner and their lovable 90-pound mutt JoJ.
